The Thai cabinet approved a budget of ten billion baht to fund the expansion in development of Phuket's tourism infrastructure. In the planning stages now are a new exhibition center, new roads, and expansion of the existing airport. With these new projects will come more hotels, adding to the already infinite variety of choices available. People from all over the world come to enjoy the beach lifestyle on Phuket Island. There is something to do for everyone, from the famous Thai body massages to Muay Thai boxing events and elephant trekking to watching exotic cabaret shows. There are endless things to do here. Other outings include daytrips to James Bond Island, Tunnel Cave, and the Bang Wad Dam. There are also several art galleries to take in the local talent. Endless Excursions in Phuket

Getting around Phuket is easy enough. Motorcycle taxis or renting a jeep are the most common ways. Tuk-tuks are fun for first-timers to Thailand, but might get a little tiresome after several times. For a little more chaotic atmosphere, Tammachat Restaurant offers a bit more excitement in its surroundings in Phuket Town. Many tourists and travelers from all walks of life visit Patong Beach for the internationally famous nightlife. Discos, Irish pubs, cabaret shows, and an endless choice of bars can keep a curious traveler up all night. Shoppers can fulfill all their needs at the numerous markets, malls, and souvenir shops providing many accessories and unique gifts. The ubiquitous and affordable Thai massage parlors are available after a long walk around town.

Phuket is an incredible place to spend the holidays wherever you might live in the world. Even though it is a bit far for some, once you arrive, the prices for everything are so cheap, it makes the journey worth it. One of the most popular things to do is to take a dinner cruise around one of the many bays and inlets that make up Phuket. Another popular activity is rafting down the rivers that begin on the mountains. Those who like to golf can go to Blue Canyon near Phang Nga Bay.
 

After teeing off all day, you can go see the Phuket FantaSea Show, which is a favorite among tourists. Don't forget about the Similan Islands, which are internationally famous around the world for some of the best snorkeling and diving. Other travelers might like to visit Thalang National Museum, which exhibits a lot of Thai handicrafts and Thai historical displays. Temples worth visiting are Wat Phra Thong, and Wat Chalong.  Nature lovers will enjoy Had Nai Yang National Park in the northwest corner of the island. Try the Phuket Shell Museum on Rawai Beach with some beautiful displays and souvenirs for sale.
